Aberdeen Social Enterprise moves with the times.

Third Force News 29th May 2009

An Aberdeen charity has changed its identity in a move to make it ‘more modern.’

Printability has re-branded itself after eight years and is now known as ‘Send-it.’ It claims the change of name better reflects its activities. Send it operates from its John Street office as a social enterprise. As well as being a commercial operation, it is a charitable organisation that helps supports people who are recovering from mental health problems. It provides work placements and training to more than 20 adults in the region, and it is hoped, with the increase in demand for online services, that through time that number will increase.

In addition to its social agenda, Send-it endeavours to find more ways to help the environment by recycling where possible and provide awareness training for all for all those who use the service.

It will continue to offer mailing solutions to companies across the country in addition to the fulfilment solution it offers online retailers, which involves Send-it receiving retailers orders direct, packing them and sending out to customers.

Jenny Thomson, Social Enterpriser Manager said ‘I’m delighted that the re-branding to Send-it has been a success. The solutions we offer internet retailers are fantastic – it saves them a huge amount of work and time when dispatching goods and it’s great there’s a social benefit too. Our workforce is strong and members are 100 per cent committed to the work they do.’
