Training
Trainees can choose from a range of activities although we encourage everyone to work with mail sorting in order to learn about the different types of mailings. This helps to develop good quality control awareness and an understanding of Royal Mail criteria. We also teach many print finishing processes which require the use of specialist equipment. Trainees learn booklet making, shrink wrapping, using the guillotine, polybagging, folding and wire binding.
For those who wish to develop their IT skills, we can provide training on database maintenance and management, using excel spread sheets and stock control.
If you are interested in taking part please download and complete this application form and forward it to Jenny Thomson at jenny@send-it.org or alternatively e-mail Jenny or phone 01224 618450 for more information.
We also run a Graphics Class to develop the design and IT skills required to undertake our printing tasks. Alongside this people can utilise their Photoshop skills, photographing and advertising items for auction via our ever-popular eBay service.
Each year we produce a calendar which is photographed, edited and printed by our service users.
